Balloon Sinuplasty (BSP) is designed to help alleviate the symptoms of chronic sinusitis for those who have failed medical management.

Balloon sinuplasty is a medical breakthrough in the treatment of persistent sinus infection. Balloon sinuplasty is an endoscopic surgical technique that requires no cutting of the patient's nasal tissue or bone structure. Essentially, the procedure is accomplished by placing a small, flexible balloon catheter into the patient's sinus cavity.
Once in place, the catheter is gently inflated, expanding the sinus opening that has been constricted due to chronic sinusitis. Next, a saline solution is flushed into the sinus cavity, which clears out accumulated pus and mucus. Finally, the catheter is removed, leaving the sinus opening widened without having to remove tissue through an invasive surgical procedure.
