Nasal and Laryngeal Endoscopy
An endoscopy of the larynx and nasal passages is a minimally invasive diagnostic procedure performed using a local, topical anesthetic. Endoscopy involves flexible camera, known as an endoscope, passing through the nostril to provide a detailed view of the nasal passages, sinuses and larynx.
A video feed allows the doctor to complete a thorough evaluation of inside of the nasal cavity and larynx. The results are digitally recorded and reviewed with the patient immediately after the procedure and aid in diagnosis.

A flexible endoscope is a valuable tool in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment planning for cancers occurring in the nose and throat.
The endoscope is a device with either a fiber optic probe connected to a video camera, or a more contemporary digital model with a high-definition imaging sensor, giving better results.
Either model permits the examination of tissue in the nasal passages and throat. The endoscope probe is of sufficient length to inspect the nose, throat, and voice box. Like the imaging probe, an endoscope has a side channel, allowing instruments to pass. For example, small tissue samples called biopsies may be performed using this side channel.
