Pressure Equalization Tube Placement / Tympanostomy

When patients suffer from regular ear infections or fluid in the ear, they may benefit from pressure equalization tubes. Also called tympanostomy or ventilation tubes, these small inserts are most often placed in the eardrums of children and occasionally in adults. The tubes allow effective drainages and airflow in the middle ear and help to prevent infections and restore hearing.
